Odede

15th August 2010

Well I have been in Odede now for 3 days and feels like I have been here all my life. The people of Odede have made me feel so at home it is overwhelming. I have had a good look at surrounding areas and visited some schools. I can hardly believe what I can see. There is a school that has over 650 students, approximately 60-80 students per class room and limited desks to sit at. They have no pens, pencils and paper so how they learn I am not sure.

What they are in desparate need for are pens. I have pencils but they use pens in the primary schools sections so if anyone can send pens that would be great. The address to send them to is  Marilyn Chambers c/- Ashur - World Youth International, New Victoria Hotel - PO Box 276 Kisumu - Kenya.

Kenya is a beautiful country and the people are wonderful. Very humble and are willing to be open to new ideas. I will be spending some time with our Co-ordinator on Monday to commence the final stage of the Child Rescue Centre so as soon I have some photos for you I will put them on.

So until next time....................Remember

"you are alive, and that is the only place you need to be to start"
