Time Line for Odede

Considering the size of the Odede Project World Youth International and Marilyn say it will take approximately 7 years to complete.

This project will encompass a Child Rescue Centre, Multi Educational and Child Care Facility, Medical Centre and a Community Centre. The Child Rescue Centre is currently under construction and expects to be completed by January 2011. This of course depends on the donations and hard work of volunteers.

The Centre will develop into a learing facility for the community of Odede to utilise the facilities along with learing the basic rules of general hygiene. There will be a new Composting Toilet System introduced within this facility of which the local people will be taught to up keep, maintain and understand the resaon for composting. The manure will be stored for a period of up to 4-6 months whereby excellent humus compost will be created to be utilised on their crops. Urine will also be separated, diluted and also used on the Maize crops which will enhance the yield 7 fold. This system will then be gradually integrated throughout the community.

World Youth International at all times encourages sustainabilty within the community and expects to leave the village of Odede within the timeframe of 7 years.
